Reservations: You can book on Resy up to two weeks in advance. For a place with food this stunning it’s surprisingly easy to get a table even just a few days out.
Experience: The best way to describe Lord’s is as an “elevated pub.” It refines the classic bar and booths from a moody dive to a sophisticated cocktail scene.
Food: Lord’s comes from the same couple that birthed Dame, and while it may give pub vibes, the food at Lord’s is far from divey. Their often photographed Curried Lamb Scotch Egg has a hint of curry in the lamb and a perfectly jammy egg - a match made in heaven, albeit on the heavy side. Definitely split it with (at least) one other person. Next was my favorite bite of the night, the Whipped Goat’s Curd & English Peas on Toast - an unctuous mouthful of tangy cheese with a soft lemon flavor. The not-so-secret off menu burger is a must. The patty was perfection and the cheese sauce, which contains things like Guinness and mustard, is unlike anything else in the city. Only a dozen or so are available per night so go early if this is on your list. We also tried the Grilled Scallop, Peekytoe Crab Panzanella, and Dark Chocolate and Caramel Tart, all very good, but not stand outs.
Who to Bring: Lord’s is perfect for just about anyone. You can have a fancy date at a table, or a more relaxed date at the bar (ft. the burger). Your parents will love it, and if you have a large group I’d recommend asking for tables in the back section.
What to Wear: From elevated casual all the way up to that dress you can get away with a lot here.
