Reservations: Books open 28 days in advance at 12PM. For prime dinner times like 7PM or 8PM, book a few weeks out. Note that these prime times seem to only be available through their Seven Rooms website, and other, less desirable times are available on Resy.
Experience: At Ci Siamo you’ll be impressed when you first walk through the door. The bar is accompanied by cafe style tables and chairs, perfect for catching up with a friend, and the dining room feels massive, dwarfing the open kitchen in the corner. The service is standard but you’ll be so preoccupied with the space you won’t really mind.
Food: The Italian restaurant scene in New York is overcrowded, and Ci Siamo isn’t doing enough to stand out. While well made and tasty, the dishes I tried were ultimately forgettable. The Cast Iron Focaccia and the Gnocco Fritto (kind of like a giant Gouda Cheeze-It) appetizers were my favorites, leaving the tomato Tagliatelle and the crab Cavatelli far in the rear view. I suggest treating this like a classic Italian dinner and ordering both a pasta and a meat dish.
Who to Bring: The large and glamorous space makes it appropriate to bring anyone (sans those with high food expectations) to Ci Siamo. Your parents will still be impressed, your date will feel special, and your friends won’t have to keep their voices down.
What to Wear: For a restaurant made for Instagram fodder, you might as well keep it cute. The food might disappoint but your photo-op won’t.
